Affordable housing must continue to be a priority. Without it, dignity and shared prosperity cannot exist. Today, on behalf of the Honourable Minister Ahmed Hussen, MP Fragiskatos joined local and provincial colleagues to announce $8.4 million in funding for new affordable housing units on Hamilton Rd. (Residenza Ortona) and 440 Clarke Rd. Units will be for individuals who have experienced homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, individuals with disabilities, new Canadians, seniors and veterans.

The building will be called “Residenza Ortona,” in honour of the sacrifice of Canadian veterans who freed the Italian town of Ortona during the Second World War. In partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, 10 of the units will be designated for homeless veterans.
